    Created family-tree ciphertext by calculating and mixing birth data of family members in certain formulas, I then used different language and dialect, placing them in specific orders, layer by layer to form a new hieroglyph.

    Positioning lure in hieroglyph order on petri dish, I placed revived Physarum polycephalum and let them form a second layer of hieroglyph.

    Taking the brand new biophilic hieroglyph and programming it in Processing to show the process of how language is being transformed.

    Placing Badhamia utricularis in the petri dishes to simulate the process of how different culture intrudes each other. Finally, discover the progress of settlement shifts.

 

Project Goals and Importance:

This project attempts to explore the creation of cultures through the origin of languages, and to discover the meaning of settlements and the historical loop.

1. Invent an original ciphertext using an algorithm formula by combining the birth data of family in Space rectangular coordinate system; Use Physarum polycephalum and Badhamia utricularis to create three different layers of biophlic ciphertext.

2. Digitalize the biophlic ciphertext.

 

Addressing the Projects:

General Steps:

1. Calculating the formula with birth data and create the ciphertext; Cultivating the Physarum polycephalum and Badhamia utricularis and creating the new form of ciphertext;

2. Digitalize the whole process.

Goal 1 Specific Steps:

1. Put family birth data into the space rectangular coordinate system taking the lines and curved surfaces as the objects to create the model that includes all dates;

2. Use the new model to get the new ciphertext number and combine with the Wu Language and Lahof to reflect the form of cyphertext;

3. Draw each character onto the petri dishes and place Physarum polycephalum on top of it, let it grow out of the final biophilic ciphertext;

4. Place Badhamia utricularis into each dish as an intruder;

5. Eventually, the settlement ruins have completed.

To connect the dead, to connect the unborn, people create languages.

    Expression and understanding rely on languages. We are all travelers, and the languages are the lantern that light the way ahead. As we are on the road, languages will be inherited, will be adjusted, and continue to light the road for the others. Languages are equal.

    Languages bridge the dead and the living. The bond that builds up within lets people realize that the self is nothing but illusion. In society all things succeed one another mutually, floated, and never stop. Language is the river of time that records everything. We are in it, not “I” in it, it is not “I” experiencing the time. But the river of time flows, created a sudden echo. And we, the micro transiency, in that magnificence.

    I discuss cities, the settlements. The city communicates a history of toil, anger, illusions, emotions. All is necessary, divorced from chance, connected by relations, categorized, set in order. I discuss humans, the humanity. The generations will follow one another until they reach a certain number and will then go no further, and form the urban settlement. The catalogue of forms is endless. Until every shape has found its city, new cities will continue to be born, when the forms exhaust their variety and come apart the end of cities begins. The settlement of the dead and that of the unborn are like the two sides of an hourglass which is never turned over, the hemispheres of brain; each passage between birth and death is a grain of sand that passes the neck, the cities will end with the last inhabitant born, the last grain to fall.

 

    Language creates culture. Culture as barrier. Estrangement. Race. Though different being, culture, will break and loose in many outbreaks. Same topics and symbols play different reflection in different culture. The split lives can never place their recognition in other stories. Is it destined that culture can only be separated?

    Though aloneness is culture as well. Speaking your own language to touch and to find new connection. The engagement is breaking the law of current society, to create a new form of combination, a symbiotic relation. This relation includes love, friendship, affection, libido, and includes poverty, loneliness and malevolence. It is not about blood, because everyone, with each other, can form an intimate community.

    And languages. Words. Vocabularies. Words began to replace objects and gestures. First exclamations, isolated nouns, dry verbs, then phrases, ramified and leafy discourses, metaphors and tropes. People learnt communication.
